Don't Be an Enthusiast.
Welcome back to Where’s My PA?—the space where we slow down, look under the hood of this model, and talk about what’s actually happening in the room.
Today’s episode is sparked by a question I saw circulating in the IFS Enthusiasts group. It was framed like this:
"Sometimes clients’ exiled parts can’t trust Self, even though protectors have given access. How do you work with this?"
It’s a good question. But it also tells me something important—and something I want you to pause with.
This model attracts a lot of people who love the concepts, the language, the possibilities. Enthusiasts. There’s nothing wrong with enthusiasm. But enthusiasm without depth can make you skip over the thing that actually makes IFS work: relationship. Not just your relationship with the client—but the client’s relationship with themselves.
And that’s where I want to begin this conversation.
